About Alpadia

We are a leading group of language schools based in Switzerland

Providing year-round adult courses in Montreux, Lyon, Berlin and Freiburg as well as summer camps in Switzerland, France, Germany and England, we are devoted to excellence in language education. Inspired by our multicultural and multilingual country, we create a vibrant environment through activity-driven language training, allowing students to expand their horizons and explore new possibilities.

Ugo is in charge of the global management of Alpadia Language Schools. In addition to monitoring the economic and academic performance of the group of schools, he is also responsible for maintaining high quality standards in our B2B and B2C relationships. Ugo’s strong background in sustainable development and experience in the tourism industry give him the specific know-how required to drive and support innovative projects within Alpadia.

After graduating from Lausanne Hotel School and Paris Dauphine University, Ugo first joined in 2001 as a Junior Camp Manager and became part of the first French team in Paris in 2003. From 2005 to 2008, Ugo was a Tourism Project Manager for the French Sustainability Committee. After having co-developed the first CSR self-assessment tool in the study abroad industry, he joined Alpadia in 2013.

Sebastien is responsible of our B2B partner network providing the support and assistance needed internally and externally to our agents. Looking after our business relationships and image worldwide, Sebastien is constantly nurturing both current and new partnerships while contributing to diversity via a multi-cultural nationality mix in the classrooms and through intercultural communications.

After graduating in Business Management from Menlo College in California, Sebastien joined the “Language Education” industry as Sales Manager for Latin America based out of San Francisco. Moving back to his home country, Switzerland, after 9+ years in the USA, he continued in the industry as Sales Director for Europe, Middle East and Africa. After 5+ years in Montreux, Sebastien moved to Colombia as Sales Director for Latin America where is he now based since 2014. He joined the Alpadia team in July 2017.

Maud is in charge of business relations with our partner agencies, offering them the support and service they need for the on-going success of our partnership.

She completed a Master's degree in Business and Management at EM Lyon Business School in France. She has been working within the Education and Study Abroad Industry for several years and joined Alpadia in February 2015.

Natacha is in charge of the operational management of our schools for adults and junior camps in France, Germany and Switzerland. 


She completed a Master’s degree in Literature at Lausanne University, with a major in German and Russian studies. Passionate about languages, she worked as a French and German teacher before joining Alpadia in 2010. She has worked on various company projects, mostly in collaboration with the management board and joined Alpadia in November 2013.

Mattias is in charge of the operation of all Summer Camps: monitoring organisational programs, communication with accommodation and activity partners and recruiting staff. Mattias works closely with the IAC and Schools Operations Manager.

He has a Master degree in Sports and a Master in Management. Prior to Alpadia, he worked in in Swiss tourism industry and for an international consulting company.

Karine joined Alpadia as a Finance and Accounting Manager in September 2014. She is responsible for the financial operations of all Alpadia schools and summer camps.

Graduated from the University of Québec with a degree in commerce, Karine started her career in the telecommunication business in Montreal. Her taste for adventure took her to Vancouver and in 2006 she moved to Switzerland while working for a real estate company.

In 2011 Karine oriented her career in the Education business and worked in Finance for hospitality schools before joining Alpadia.

Born in France, Adeline Lesage has taken on the role of Centre Manager at Alpadia Montreux. She previously had worked for Alpadia as Camp Manager at Alpadia Paris-Igny.

Adeline studied Philosophy and Education in the South of France and became a French teacher afterwards. She is has trained to teach French as a foreign language (FLE) and particularly loves teaching French phonetics! When she was young she moved to the Caribbean and has never lost the travel bug since. For almost 6 years she has lived abroad in countries like the US, Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, and now Switzerland.

Felix runs Alpadia Berlin, which counts 50 teachers. He has been with Alpadia since 1997 and successively worked as a German teacher, manager of the German department, trainer and exam trainer before taking over the direction of the school.

Felix studied law, Slavic studies and German as a foreign language and has worked for various language schools, adult education centres and exam centres.

Véronique is in charge of Alpadia Lyon. She manages both the administrative and teaching teams of the school.

She holds a Master’s degree in French as a Foreign Language and a Master’s degree in Cultural Development. After completing her studies, Véronique spent three years teaching French in Nepal and Slovakia. After that, she was employed by the Alliance Française in Mauritania to manage the educational and cultural mission, later flying to Afghanistan to train both male and female teachers of French. Between these travels, Véronique worked in France, including as a Junior Camp Manager. Véronique joined our team in 2011.

Matthias is the director of Alpadia Freiburg. The school has enjoyed a reputation for excellence in German teaching for 30 years.

After completing his studies as a state school teacher in Freiburg and Stuttgart, Matthias entered the world of adult education in 1986, first as a teacher, later as a teacher trainer, Director of Studies and assistant director. Matthias joined Alpadia in 2011.
